James Cameron is planning on making three new Avatar movies, with the first sequel set for a 2017 release date. Filmmaker James Cameron this week revealed that the original plan of releasing the next 3 Avatar sequels in 2016, 2017, and 2018 has been changed. The director explained that, in order to make sure the movie experience is substantial for each new film, a delay of one year on each project has to take place. James Cameron took to Reddit this weekend to reveal exclusive details to users about his upcoming Avatar sequels. During an "AMA" or "Ask Me Anything" session Cameron told Reddit users that he is working on the next three Avatar sequels and hopes that the scripts are finished for all three of the films within the next six weeks.
