Johnny Manziel was sworn in as the Cleveland Browns's starting quarterback amid much fanfare and controversy. Less than two weeks later, Manziel was gone. Manziel left his second career NFL start Sunday, Dec. 21, against the Carolina Panthers with a hamstring injury and didn't return to action, as the Browns lost their fourth straight game 17-13. Manziel fell down after trying to get up from a hit by Panthers safety Colin Jones on a designed quarterback run, according to espn.com. "As I kept walking more and more, it just felt like something I hadn't experienced before," Manziel told ESPN. "I figured I needed to get checked out. Pretty frustrating." Manziel completed three of eight passes for 32 yards, a week after completing 10 of 18 passes, but throwing two interceptions in his debut. Manziel has still to throw a touchdown in 27 career passing attempts. Fans celebrated, cheering as Manziel was helped off the field by trainers, according to Fox Sports Ohio. Manziel's counterpart Sunday, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, reacted to the incident in a respectful way. Read More »

Johnny Manziel's first start as an NFL quarterback was a "disaster", with the QB himself calling it a "fail". The Cleveland Browns lost 30-0 to AFC North division rival Cincinnati Bengals in Manziel's debut start, with the former Texas A&M QB looking "sloppy" and "slow" in the shut out loss. Manziel — drafted 16th overall by the Browns in the 2014 NFL draft — threw two interceptions and was sacked three times, and essentially eliminated the Browns from NFL playoff contention in the process. Unsurprisingly, the reactions around the NFL to the loss were — similar to everything else Manziel-related — loud and brash. Read More »

Sports Illustrated reports the people's poll has correctly predicted the last three Heisman winners: Robert Griffin III of Baylor, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston of Florida State. The magazine then makes it clear that Alabama's WR Amari Cooper doesn't get its vote; that goes to Mariota. However, the people have spoken and they chose Cooper to win the Heisman Trophy, according to the same poll. Read More »
After all the hype, advertisements and celebrity endorsements, Johnny Manziel will finally get to start his first NFL game this Sunday against AFC North division and playoff rival Cincinnati Bengals. It comes after starter, Brian Hoyer, was benched two games ago, then reinstated for last Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, which the Browns narrowly lost, 25-24. Read More »
Browns coach Mike Pettine was intentionally glib Monday when asked at a press conference about whether Manziel, the 22nd overall pick in last year's NFL Draft, would replace struggling starter Brian Hoyer. But Tuesday, the Browns made the move, choosing 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Manziel to start under center from this point forward. Read More »
Cleveland Browns fans are ready for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel to take over for Brian Hoyer, who has struggled mightily after a hot start, according to "USA Today." Browns head coach Mike Pettine named Hoyer the starter of the rookie Manziel at the start of the season. Manziel was already one of the most famous and popular football players in the country after an illustrious career at Texas A&M earned him the nickname "Johnny Football." But Hoyer performed well, leading the Browns to a 6-3 start before the wheels began to fall apart. Cleveland is now 1-3 in its last four games, and ESPN reports that Hoyer has led the Browns to just one touchdown drive in his last 29 series. With pressure mounting to make a change, Pettine stuck with Hoyer Sunday, Dec. 7, against the Indianapolis Colts. He went just 14 for 31 for 140 yards, throwing two interceptions. The game was only close because Cleveland's defense put up 14 points. Read More »
Tony Romo has had an elite-level NFL season, but he's finally starting to admit that he's hurting worse than many believed, which could lead to the return of Brandon Weeden, which many Dallas Cowboys fans would be unhappy with. With the big aspirations the Cowboys carry, can they depend on the injury-hit Romo? Read More »
Joe Haden, Josh Gordon and Johnny Manziel are hoping to fire the Cleveland Browns to the NFL playoffs, along with help with Brian Hoyer, but they didn't need the starting QB help when they all helped to open up Haden's new sneaker store. The store is downtown Cleveland and it has been a huge hit for superstars and fans alike. The question is, will they come together on the field, as well as off it? Read More »
The Cleveland Browns will welcome the Indianapolis Colts to town, but one man comes back knowing that the last time he left it wasn't willingly. Trent Richardson was supposed to be the superstar RB the Browns needed, but it's safe to say he didn't hit the ground running, leaving many people unimpressed. However, a little over a year ago the NFL was in shock when he was traded to the Colts, for a first-round draft pick (later used to get Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel). However, now he returns with a point to prove, claiming he will put his "body on the line" to prove his worth, and to get the win his Colts need. Will the Browns stop the bitter Richardson, or will he fall short once again in Cleveland? Read More »
