My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a 2002 Candian-American romantic comedy film featuring Nia Vardalos and John Corbett in the lead roles. The sleeper hit has finally gotten a sequel titled My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, which is set for release on March 25, 2016. Now Toula (played by Vardalos) and Miller (played by Corbett) are settled into their marriage and now they have to plan their daughter's wedding.

1. Time Jump:

My Big Fat Greek Wedding ended with Miller and Toula's daughter starting in school. From the released trailer, it looks like, their daughter, Paris Miller (played by Elena Kampouris) is now 17-year-old and is headed off to college. According to The Wrap, Miller joins the rest of the star cast, who will come together again for an even bigger and fatter wedding, where a big family secret will be revealed.

2. Inspiration From Real-Life Incident:

Vardalos will again reprise her memorable role as Toula. This time around, she has also written the story. In a conversation with Yahoo, the 53-year-old actress said that the inspiration to write the sequel came when she dropped off her own daughter to the school

"Now there would be teachers and classmates and school. She was on a trajectory to 12th grade and then college. I saw it go by in a minute, and I started writing."

3. The possibility of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Vardolas stated that if the second part will be successful and is accepted by the fans, then there will be a third installment to work on. Talking about My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, the actress stated:

"I need a little time to write it, but I won't make you wait 14 years."
