Movie sequels usually include a new character or two. New characters allow viewers to be able to relate to a new face, while giving freshness to the movie. In "Star Wars'' upcoming installment, the "First Order Stormtroopers" will be joined by a new member, dubbed the "Executioner".

This Stormtrooper was described by Making Star Wars as having "a matte black line that goes over half his mask on one side". This black line would definitely set him apart from the regular Stormtrooper. The Executioner is reported to wield a weapon that looks like FN-2199's electric baton, but will sport three spinning blades to finish the job. The blades are described to be taken from the blades that come out of the spheres in the Phantasm series. It is still unknown if the Executioner will be alone or will a unit of them be available, as it can be remembered that while FN-2199 may seem to be a special Stormtrooper, several others also appeared wielding shields and the same weapon as him.

The last film, "The Force Awakens", Finn (John Boyega), a character who started out as a Stormtrooper himself, faced off against Stormtrooper FN-2199, also known as TR/8R, in the film's second act.  Wielding Luke's lightsaber, Finn almost lost the battle against the Stormtrooper, with a weapon that could go up against lightsabers, but was saved by Han Solo. This time around, Finn will go up against the Executioner, only this time, Han won't be there to get him out of a tight spot.

SlashFilm also points out that aside from the Executioner, the other First Order Stormtroopers would be getting some changes as well. For one, they will now have the same mouthpiece as their original trilogy counterparts. The Imperial Royal Guards and Imperial Gunners will be getting some facelifts too.

Things are really shaping up for Finn and the gang as they continue their journey on Episode 8, coming to theatres on December 2017.
