Tech giant Google is gaining the upper hand in the education market with their Chromebook devices. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Google is releasing another device specifically targeting this demographic: the HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 education edition.

Utilizing Google's Chrome Operating System, the new laptop is described has having a 'rugged' look that can fold 360-degrees and has rear and face-mounted cameras. The new Chromebook offering from HP also features a USB-C charger some design choices that resemble the earlier Chromebook models from competitors Acer and Asus, Engadget reported.

Additionally, the HP device would be coming in with an optional stylus. It has not been revealed if the stylus would look like the ones included on the other models, as Google has been quite mum about the device's specs. Google has made sure, however, that the device is designed to cater to specific needs of the market, primarily consisting of schools.

According to the Verge, Google Chromebooks is leading against tech bigwigs Apple and Microsoft in the education sector, with some estimating that Google controls at least half of the market share for the sector. Part of its dominance comes from the interesting and effective combination of cost-effective and user-friendly devices. And when it comes to education, this combination would be well-received by both the schools that purchase them and the students that use them.

In Sweden, for example, Google Chromebooks are the top-selling device for schools in 2016. Its apps, like Google Classroom and G-Suite, are also utilized by schools in the region. This reception is quite significant, as the country is on the forefront of using technology in the classroom.

Recent news also indicate that creative apps for Chromebooks are released in Europe, while Chromebook administrators can now approve and install Android app libraries on the devices they manage.

HP's Chromebook x360 11 G1 is scheduled for release in April 2017.
