"Kong: Skull Island" director Jordan Vogt-Roberts claims that he has the secret for successfully adapting a video game to a movie, a feat that many directors have failed to do so in decades. In doing so, he also plans to do justice the series that veteran game designer Hideo Kojima is known for.

While discussing on a session of Reddit's Ask Me Anything (AMA) for Kong: Skull Island, Vogt-Roberts explained that translating the interactive experience of the video game to a passive experience on film has been the Achilles ' heel of most moviemakers when making a film adaptation of a video game. as reported by Polygon, Vogt-Roberts adds that reconciling the fact that each game has a language that draws out the emotions from a player while getting the audience hooked with the character-centric narrative will be the key to creating the first successful video game movie.

Vogt-Roberts also wants to preserve the "voice" the video game series has. Noting that the series was directed by Kojima ever since its inception, the goal is not to turn it into a "G.I. Joe" or a "Mission: Impossible" lookalike, but to keep the flavor of "Metal Gear Solid." Getting the "MGS" feel to the big screen is a big factor for the director.

As to which characters would appear in the film, Jordan made sure that Cyborg Ninja will be in the movie, stating there would be no world where he'll make it without Gray Fox. He tells IGN that he also plans to bring the fourth wall-breaking segments, specifically Psycho Mantis from the first "Metal Gear Solid" game, as he was inspired by Ryan Reynolds' "Deadpool."

Vogt-Roberts was lucky enough to spend time with Kojima and his team, noting that the experience is like a dream and his team the best. Likewise, Kojima gives his thumbs up to the director, calling Vogt-Roberts a genius for "Kong: Skull Island."

Jordan Vogt-Roberts' "Kong: Skull Island" is now out in theaters everywhere.
