‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2 Episode 12 Promo, Spoilers: Magnus For Execution, Valentine Free

Magnus is about to be executed in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12 unless Alec steps in to intervene. Meanwhile, Valentine is out of his prison cell inside The Institute thanks to Azazel.

Freeform has released a sneak peek at the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12, which promises challenging times ahead for Magnus and Alec. The title of the episode, "You Are Not Your Own," is telling of what happens to the warlock. Apparently, Azazel has manipulated Magnus and switched his soul with Valentine.

The promo for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12 shows Magnus (in Valentine's body) locked up inside The Institute. He desperately calls out for help as he shouts that he is not Valentine but Magnus Bane. Of course, no one at The Institute believes him. Clary and Jace especially think his pleading is just another one of his ploy and lies.

However, Alec might just be able to help if he can sense through Valentine. The promo for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12 hints that he somehow believes that he is talking to Magnus and not Valentine. Fansided shared several photos from "You Are Not Your Own" that shows Alec visit Valentine.

Time is running out for the warlock. He must find a way to convince Alec that he is Magnus trapped inside Valentine's body before The Institute disposes of Valentine. According to the synopsis from Cartermatt, in the "Shadowunters" Season 2 Episode 12, the Institute resorts to controversial methods to prevent another Downworlder uprising. By controversial meaning execution and Magnus may be its first casualty unless he finds a way to get out of his predicament.

Meanwhile, Valentine is on the loose, so to speak, and is free to go in and out of The Institute using Magnus' body. Apparently, Azazel is responsible for switching his soul with the warlock. The promo for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12 shows the demon ask if he wants to go back to his body, although it seems Valentine is not ready just yet to trade places.

The "Shadowhunters" Season 2 Episode 12 takes off after Azazel placed his hand on Magnus and then on Valentine's head in Episode 11. The episode saw Valentine ask for help before he was sent back to prison and Magnus strangely acquired a limp.
