The Cleveland Browns have not had much luck when it comes to, well, almost anything in recent years. So, it perhaps comes as a surprise that their franchise never participated in the Tim Tebow experiment, while the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots all, foolishly, did. However, could the Browns be making their own Tebow-like situation with quarterbacks Johnny Manziel and Brian Hoyer, and is Manziel a modern Tebow?

Both Tebow and Manziel were electric in college, and the hyper surrounding their drafting in to the NFL, was unreal. Tebow showed moments of his NCAA electricity in the NFL, but more often than not he showed unreliability and a lack of a skill-set to make himself a success in the NFL. Ironically, Manziel has a lot in common with the QB, but the Browns are desperate to avoid a saga like the one Tebow caused.

Everywhere Tebow went fans flocked to the stores to buy his jersey, everyone wanted to talk to and about the star, but he never become the on-field star, not on the same level he was off it, anyway. Manziel has started his career as the No. 2 to Hoyer, but the Browns have started to look at using him in trick plays, which has raised alarmingly similar memories to ones Tebow imprinted on NFL fans' brains.

The Browns never got involved in the Tebow situation, despite having many chances to do so, but now they're hoping for the love of their franchise, the Manziel experiment is a risk worth taking.
