This week's New Girl episode included flashbacks, work problems and a guest appearance by Jess's dad Bob (played by Rob Reiner). "Julie Berkman's Older Sister" is all about the new love of Bob's life and Jess is not happy about it.

The episode began with Schmidt being his typical clean self, freaking out at Nick because he is a pig. Now that Schmidt is sharing a room with Nick (because he hasn't made a lot of money in a while and can't make rent), Schmidt is reaching his breaking point when it comes to the house and how dirty it is.

"I've gone from riches to rags. It's reverse Annie!" Schmidt yelled when everyone in the loft is making a mess. Schmidt is on edge this week mainly because he needs to land a new sponge client that is targeted towards men in order to start living the high life again. In order to accomplish this goal he employs all of his male roommates, but it doesn't go well.

Meanwhile, Jess is preparing for her dad's visit. She is going to meet his new girlfriend, which isn't exciting for Jess because of her dad's track record with women. Cece on the other hand cant wait to see Jess attack the mystery woman because as we see in numerous flashbacks, Jess always scares off her dad's bad girlfriends.

Much to Jess and Cece's surprise, Bob's new girlfriend is someone they know. In fact, they went to high school with her! When they meet Ashley (played by Kaitlin Olson from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) they quickly realize that she Julie Berkman's older sister... "trashley" aka trashy Ashley. As soon as they see her they close the door and freak out together. Both Cece and Jess remember her being a total slut (which she was) and they know she is a bad fit for Bob.

Even though Jess already hates this relationship, she tries to be open-minded about it. Unfortunately, Ashley does not help her cause when she owns up about all of her sexual indiscretions including being a sex addict who went to rehab four times. After hearing about all of Ashley's sexual escapades and her dad's plan to marry her, Jess is determined to take her down.

The two girls go through Ashley's phone and Jess confronts her about cheating on her father. In an awkward moment, Ashley explains that she is a sex therapist and wasn't cheating. She then storms off after Jess threatens to beat her up with "Crabtree and Evelyn" (which are her two arms). Even though we loved this line, Jess's dad is not amused.

In a switch to Schmidt's office, he has employed the guys to be members of a fake focus group so he can convince his boss to give him the sponge client. Of course Nick, Coach and Winston make fools of themselves and get Schmidt in serious trouble. After realizing that flirting with the girl in the focus group screwed Schmidt over, Nick barges into his meeting with his boss and tries to help him.

Nick goes off on a tangent about needing their room to sleep with the focus group girl and it sparks a genius idea for Schmidt. He pitches the sponge as a man's sponge to clean their room clean, because the only thing that should be dirty in their room is a hot woman. It is genius and Schmidt is back in the game.

Back to Jess and her dad, the two have a serious heart-to-heart about his relationship past. Jess realizes that she doesn't need to protect him anymore and that if her dad is in love he should go for it. As Jess tries to fix the mess she made a biker hits her. The couple makes up and Bob proposes to Ashley while holding Jess in his arms. It is funny and would only happen to Jess.

The episode ends with Nick holding the sponge to clean up, but using his socks instead. Oh, Nick, will you ever learn? The last thing we see is Schmidt's new sexy sponge commercial and it is glorious.
