The idea of the Detroit Lions trading Calvin Johnson at one time seemed impossible, but rumors are suggesting, fresh off their Wembley Stadium NFL win, they are close to agreeing to a deal to send their star receiver to another team. The Lions are furious with his constant injuries and big salary, and they've realized they can win without him, meaning now's the time to move on. Will a deal be finalized, and where should he go? Could this be the end of an NFL legend's career?

General manager Martin Mayhew recently said, "It's not up to me. Calvin's got to do things that he's got to do and it's like every other player. There's always a risk of injury when you play in this league and sometimes you have guys that get a couple and then they stay healthy for a long time. Look at Matthew Stafford. In his first year and second year he was injured and then — knock wood — he's been healthy. So I think Calvin will be fine. I don't really have a ton of concern about."

Johnson's injury troubles are worrying, but plenty of teams would send prospects, star players and/or draft picks to Detroit to land such a big-name receiver, and one that, if healthy, can outshine all his rivals. Many teams are in need of a wide receiver, and Detroit has realized they can finally live without the receiver they for so long idolized.
