New Spider-Man Actor Tom Holland: 5 Reasons We Love MCU's Next Peter Parker

We finally have our new Spider-Man after Marvel and Sony came together to bring the comic book character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but did the studios make the right choice in 19-year-old Tom Holland? We truly believe that the British actor is the right choice for the new Peter Parker, debuting in the MCU film Captain America: Civil War and then getting his own rebooted solo movie in 2017, and we have some proof for you below. Tom Holland is very athletic! Just days before the official casting news was announced, we saw some amazing videos on the actors Instagram showcasing this fact. He can perform a multitude of parkour moves and appears to test his abilities regularly. You can check out our previous coverage on this news here, but watch one acrobatic example right here:

He's more age appropriate than the previous stars. Holland is 19 years old, which means he'll be filming his cameo in Civil War as a teenager. This is the first time this will happen for this movie role. Both Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield were in their mid-to-late 20s when they filmed their movies.

We don't know it yet, but he's one of the most promising young talents of his generation. Holland has a number of important movie roles coming out, namely In the Heart of the Sea from director Ron Howard. He also received critical acclaim for his role in Billy Elliot the Musical Live and The Impossible. Obviously his most recent casting will skyrocket the actor to new heights, but he was on his way up anyway.

His name has been tied to the role the longest, which means he's been working with the studios for quite some time already. Holland understands the ups and downs of the MCU already, which will prepare him for a lucrative career of cameos and leading roles!
