After months of refurbishing comedian Jerrod Carmichael’s deal, it looks like NBC is FINALLY ready to move forward on a multi-camera series inspired by the comic’s material. Carmichael, who appeared in the Seth Rogen-Zac Efron led film Neighbors earlier this year, will reportedly create and star in the series with Neighbors’ director Nick Stoller writing the script. Although the Despicable Me movie franchise has a star-studded cast to draw in plenty of attention, the breakout stars of the animated feature and its sequel are definitely the Minions. HBO’s Real Time host Bill Maher was, and is still, scheduled to present the commencement speech at Berkeley this coming December. But after some comments Maher made during his recent debate with Gone Girl star Ben Affleck back on Oct. 3, some students at the university decided to start a petition of Change.org that aims to stop Maher from speaking at the UC Berkeley graduation.
