While her compositions are usually dark and stormy, the backing track on "Queen" could be lifted from a Smoky Robinson B-side. The American Idol season finale is tonight and it appears that the troubled FOX singing competition will stay the course and continue on in its "promote our own product at any cost" ways. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season finale will feature performances from Mariah Carey (an American Idol judge), Keith Urban (samesies) and Adam Lambert (a guy who once lost on American Idol). The only non-AI chum who will perform during tonight's season finale is K-Pop novelty rapper PSY (which just solidifies the image of American Idol as a program that's lagging behind in the pop culture pantheon). Today on Facepalm News, Rapper Future claims that the controversy Lil Wayne's Emmett Till Lyric on the remix of "Karate Chop" brought awareness to the suffering of the slain teenager in a positive way.
