Taylor Swift, Spotify Feud Gets Nasty: CEO Says She'd Earn $6M From Streaming!

Taylor Swift, Harry Styles's ex, is the biggest music star in the world, but she opened a can of worms when she decided to take her music off the free streaming site Spotify. According to Chief Executive Officer Daniel Ek, the "Shake It Off" singer would've received millions of dollars by having her music on the site and that the notion that she would've given her music away for free is not true. "At our current size, payouts for a top artist like Taylor Swift — before she pulled her catalog — are on track to exceed $6 million a year, and that's only growing — we expect that number to double again in a year," he wrote on the Spotify website. "Any way you cut it, one thing is clear: We're paying an enormous amount of money to labels and publishers for distribution to artists and songwriters, and significantly more than any other streaming service." Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj Feud With Aretha Franklin: 'Queen Of Soul' Doesn't 'Respect' Young Artists

Aretha Franklin is the Queen of Soul with a new album of covers coming out, but the R&B icon doesn't mince words when asked what she thinks about today's music stars. In an interview with the "Wall Street Journal," Aretha gave her thoughts about some of the biggest acts in music today including Taylor Swift, Adele and Nicki Minaj. Her answers weren't the most flattering toward them: On Adele: "Young singer, good singer." On Alicia Keys: "Um, young performer, writer/producer." On Taylor Swift: "Okay. Great gowns. Beautiful gowns." On Whitney Houston: "Whitney was a talent. Definitely a talent. She had a gift. And Cissy's baby." On Nicki Minaj: "Nicki Minaj ... Hmm ... Now I'm going to pass on that one."
