Has The Sale Of Luis Suarez Ruined Liverpool?

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 23, 2014 05:22 PM EST

When Liverpool sold Luis Suarez and Brendan Rodgers replaced him with Adam Lallana and Mario Balotelli, many knew they'd suffer, but nobody predicted their terrible start to the season would be this bad. But the coach has admitted it's his fault, and that so far their Premier League campaign has been an abject "failure." Can Liverpool recover from this poor spell, and is Rodgers at risk of losing his job? Rodgers insisted: "We are very disappointed with the performance and the result, and as the manager it is something I need to take full responsibility for. We need to find a solution quickly because this is very disappointing, and we have no one but ourselves to blame. We had to make changes in the summer and are near enough entering a transition phase. But whatever phase, we have to be better than that." Has he been through a worse time at the club, you ask? He continued, according to the BBC: "This is the worst run my team has been on and the only way out is working together. We have to improve and very, very quickly because the games come thick and fast." Read More »

Arsene Wenger Slams Wayne Rooney's Manchester United And His 'Naive' Arsenal Team

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 23, 2014 12:35 PM EST

Wayne Rooney has forever been a thorn in Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, and he has once again come back to haunt them. Despite Manchester United perhaps being second best, they grabbed a 2-1 win at Emirates Stadium, largely due to Rooney's influence. Louis Van Gaal earned his first away win with the club, but Wenger wasn't prepared to praise his opponents, suggesting it was Arsenal errors that cost them this vital Premier League game. Wenger hit out at both his team and opponents, saying to the BBC: "At the moment defensively we are a bit naive. It's a game that we dominated for 80 percent of the time and we haven't dominated a game like that against Manchester United for a long time. At the end of the day we were not efficient enough in the final third, or defensively, and we made a mistake at the back, which they took advantage of. Once we were 1-0 down, we had possession in the final third that they had to defend. We missed a few opportunities in the second half, even in the final 20 minutes." Read More »

In their first bout, many couldn't separate Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew, however, the die hard Everton fan has got his rematch on their "Repeat or Revenge" card and he's not prepared to lose again, with the first bout a questionable decision in Cleverly's favour to say the least. He has insisted that he will beat his rival, that he will force him into retirement, and that he will go on to become the cruiserweight champion of the world. Jan Vertonghen and Neil Taylor may just be the defenders that play for Belgium and Wales, but before their clash, they both had their say on elite superstars Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard. With the pair facing off in their Euro qualifier, one can wonder, who came out on top, and which player is the better one overall?
