The "Into the Woods" actress had a minor hiccup in her Thanksgiving dinner preparation, but luckily Gwyneth was there to help. While promoting "Into the Woods," in which Meryl plays The Witch, on "Live! with Kelly and Michael" Wednesday, Dec. 3, the 65-year-old actress revealed that even she has cooking problems during the holiday season. Meryl opened up about how her neighbor and the founder of Goop stepped up and saved Thanksgiving for her. Meryl described the "Thanksgiving disaster" saying, "My oven didn't work. I hate my oven, I hate it, and you never hate your oven more than on Thanksgiving Day, when it won't cook the turkey." She told talk-show host Kelly Ripa that despite trying to cook the meat it didn't work with her oven.
