'Daily Show' Larry Wilmore Slams "Black-On-Black" Crime Debates Following Ferguson Protests [WATCH]

By Kyle Dowling | Dec 03, 2014 11:47 AM EST

The current Ferguson protests - which began as a result of the "no indictment" decision against former Officer Darren Wilson surrounding the murder of unarmed teen Michael Brown - have caused quite a bit of stir in the news these days, especially after a number of St. Louis Rams players sported the "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" gesture during one of their games. And following the St. Louis police asking the NFL the apology for the gesture (in which the Rams' coach basically told them to screw off), there's been much discussion about "black-on-black" crime, something The Daily Show with Jon Stewart easily picked up on. To further the discussion, the Comedy Central hit brought in their Senior Black Correspondent, Larry Wilmore, who will replace Stephen Colbert with The Nightly Show when The Colbert Report ends. By Kyle Dowling | Nov 11, 2014 12:37 PM EST

One might think that Daily Show host Jon Stewart enjoys discussing politics. And while it’s true he very well may, his opinion of the ones he’s reporting on is rather dour (but true). Over the weekend, the comedian sat down with CBS’ Sunday Morning correspondent Mo Rocca – who was a once-upon-a-time correspondent at the Daily Show – and told them that he believes politicians are “salespeople” – citing a number of interviews he’s conducted in the past. In fact, when it comes to interviewing them, he “despises” it. Read More »

Olivia Munn Talks The End of HBO's 'The Newsroom'

By Kyle Dowling | Nov 10, 2014 10:32 AM EST

It would appear safe to say that Olivia Munn’s road to stardom has been a rather interesting one. The actress kicked off her career studying journalism, then moved to playing a faux reporter for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and finally a fictional journalist on HBO’s The Newsroom opposite Dumb and Dumber To’s Jeff Daniels. So, we guess you could say that journalism was always in Munn’s blood… just not enough to do it for a living, of course. Now, however, the Aaron Sorkin-led series is coming to an end, and it looks like the 34-year-old actress has much to say on the topic! Read More »
