Zendaya Coleman might have grown up, but it doesn't seem like she's ready to leave the nest yet. The 18-year-old Disney Channel star might have finished working on her first series for the network, "Shake It Up," but she is about to embark on a whole new project for the station. While other Disney darlings have tried to shed their good girl images by acting out — see Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan — it seems Zendaya is keeping things tasteful as to not alienate her younger fan base. Her maturity and wisdom beyond her years is pretty refreshing in an age where girls want to grow up too fast. Instead of moving on from the channel, the star has instead decided to work with them on a more grown up project, but still friendly enough to be on the Disney Channel. According to "E! News," the show is called "K.C. Undercover," and Zendaya will also serve as co-producer on the series. The highly anticipated film, "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B" is airing tonight on Lifetime at 8 p.m. EST. Actress, Alexandra Shipp, has taken the role of Aaliyah in the biopic, after Zendaya Coleman (the original choice) resigned. MStars News recently reported the movie underwent some controversy earlier this year when it was announced that Coleman would be taking on the role of the R&B singer. After facing some pretty harsh criticism and scrutiny, however, the Disney star backed out of the project, leaving the door open for Shipp to take over the lead role.
