"Criminal Minds" Season 12 is highlighting Matthew Gray Gubler's character Spencer Reid in a quite unexpected approach. Spoilers suggest that he will be spending more prison time and might find an ally in one of his cellmates.

In the next "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode titled "Alpha Male," things will be more difficult for Reid. "The BAU investigates when several young men and women are victims of disfiguring acid attacks. Also, Dr. Reid begins to settle into his new surroundings," reads the synopsis from Cartermatt.

"Criminal Minds" fans are quick to conclude that Reid's new "surrounding" is his being behind bars. Enstars reported that things will turn worse for the BAU members as the judge denied his request to bail and as his lawyer advised him to plead guilty instead to serve lesser years in jail.

Spencer Reid wants to prove his innocence for the murder of a doctor in Mexico. Unfortunately, his efforts proved futile as his fingerprints were all over the weapon used to kill the victim. However, Reid will not be totally in a bad position in the next "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode.

There are rumors that in the next "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode Spencer Reid will find a new ally in one of his cellmates. Of course, after Shemar Moore's exit and Thomas Gibson's untimely departure, the show cannot afford to lose another key character. Thus, even if things get bad to worse for Reid, there will always be a way to ease things up for him.

The "Oz" alum Harold Perrineau is joining "Criminal Minds" Season 12. He is also an FBI agent who is in the same boat as Reid. He will be helping Gubler's character deal with his prison bully struggles. However, whether he has his own ulterior motive or not, that will be something that fans should look out for.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 15 titled "Alpha Male" will air on March 1, 9 p.m ET on CBS. Stay tuned for more news and updates of your favorite TV show.
