Bethany and Derek

Bethany Mota and Derek Hough kicked off the night with their Week 1 performance of the jive. Judge Bruno Tonioli was their guest adviser, and he just wanted to see improvement from the pair. When the couple took the stage, Bethany was sassy and flirty. The whole routine was fast and fun to watch and definitely stronger than the first time they performed it. Unfortunately, there was a stage difficulty that threw the couple off for a second, and they got 36 points because of it.

For their freestyle routine, Derek switched it up completely. Their routine was powerful and futuristic. From the start of the dance, we felt like we were in the Hunger Games and it was awesome. The judges loved the performance and that it clearly showed Bethany's journey to the top. They received a perfect score of 40.

Sadie and Mark

Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas redid their hilarious Duck Dynasty-themed samba routine for the judge's pick this week. Len Goodman had not seen the routine in person, so when he stopped by their rehearsal, he had a couple tips to impress him this time around. Plus, One Direction singer Liam Payne stopped by to show his support and become part of the Quack Pack. When the couple took the stage, the energy was high and Sadie's confidence was through the roof. It was goofy, entertaining and good. They got 38 points and a lot of duck calls from the audience.

When it came to the freestyle round, Mark took a huge risk with his concept and song choice. Instead of a serious routine, the duo performed a video-game-themed number to an iconic game song. Mark dressed as Mario and Sadie as Princess Peach. It was adorable and fun to watch, and the judges were impressed by the originality of the piece. They earned 40 points.

Janel and Val

Pretty Little Liars's Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy performed third last night, and they had big shoes to fill. For their judge's choice, they had their samba, which was one of their lowest-scoring routines all season. Now that PLL has begun filming again, Janel had three less days to practice and tensions were high. Plus, during dress rehearsals, Janel bruised her rib, which was really bad. Luckily, when the pair started to dance all the negatives went away and they nailed it. The routine was sexy and full of passion, which is what Julianne Hough wanted to see. They got 37 points.

For their freestyle, Val opted for an emotional routine rather than a flashy one and it worked. The chemistry between this pair is their greatest strength, and they definitely played into that this week. The whole routine was beautiful, sensual and full of love — they kissed numerous times. The two showed an enormous amount of strength and trust through tough lifts and turns and the judges were obsessed with it. They earned 40 points.

Alfonso and Witney

Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson were the last couple to perform this week. With Alfonso's continued back and groin pains, this week could've been scary, but he managed to pull through and perform with ease. For their judge's choice routine, they had their jive, which is a tricky dance. When Carrie Ann Inaba stopped by she told them to focus on healing and to bring it, which they did. The routine was fast, fun and flawless. They earned 40 points.

When it came time for the freestyle performance, Witney chose to blend all their previous dances into one routine and it was great. The most interesting and fresh part of the dance was when Alfonso broke into a solo portion doing tap dancing. The routine also included hip-hop and "Carlton"-style moves, which were fabulous and badass. Alfonso's clearly the man and he earned 40 points again for the unique routine.

In the final moments, all four teams stood together to hear their fates. Every team killed it this week, so anyone going home was going to be hard to see. The first team saved was Alfonso and Witney followed by Sadie and Mark, which was a little shocking based on last week's lower scores. Between Bethany and Derek and Janel and Val, Janel was saved and Bethany was sent home.

Tune in Tuesday to see who takes home the Mirror Ball Trophy and is named DWTS Season 19 champion.
