Comcast is angry over a slew of Rob Lowe characters that include 'Scrawny Arms Rob Lowe', 'Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe', 'Super Creepy Rob Lowe', 'Far Less Attractive Rob Lowe' and 'Meathead Rob Lowe'. According to Comcast, DirectTV's claims of 99% signal reliability, 1080p HD programming, more sports and better picture and sound quality in the Lowe commercials are completely false. Smackdown moving back to Thursday nights this year was huge news for WWE fans. When it debuted in 1999 that was its original night slot and the Thursday move gave the show a bit of a nostalgic feel to it. Jay Z won't admit it, but it looks like he fired another warning shot at Spotify following his big Tidal announcement. If fans of the Jigga Man want to go on Spotify to listen to his first album, 'Reasonable Doubt,' they won't be able to from this point forward because it was mysteriously removed. Paul Walker's final film may have been his most successful. 'Furious 7' opened with a bang this weekend by raking in millions upon millions of dollars. Here in the United States the movie wracked up $146.5 million while globally it amassed $384 million. With the huge box office numbers 'Furious 7' broke records by joining the ranks of the top 10 biggest openings in U.S. history and what's even more impressive is that every other movie on the list is based on a comic book or novel. When 'Tomb Raider' first came out for the Sega Saturn and original Sony PlayStation, it not only broke records but broke ground by having a female lead in Lara Croft who wasn't the stereotypical damsel in distress. That 1996 release sold more than 7 million copes, but it turns out it wasn't the most successful game in the series. As of this past weekend, the remake reached the 8.5 million mark and this news couldn't have come at a better time because the sequel 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' will be out soon. George R.R. Martin might be the greatest and most successful writer of this generation. Between the "Game of Thrones" book series and HBO television show, nobody has put out bigger hits than him. To put it lighty, he's a content machine. This is why it only makes sense that he continues his dominance in the television realm. His new show, "Captain Cosmos," will be debuting soon and it revolves around a science fiction writer living in 1949 who is alive during the beginning of the dawn of the television age. Read More »
A mother/daughter team has created a special dating site for those with autism in honor of National Autism Awareness month. Olivia Cantu, 18, and her mother Kristen Fitzpatrick, created the site SpectrumSingles.com to raise awareness for autism. According to them, aspects pertaining to the spectrum are not properly represented in the public sphere - with dating being one of those aspects. Read More »
In honor of Easter – a day many in the Christian faith believe is the day Jesus ressurected after being crucified three days earlier – a fan of Kanye West decided to put out a special bible in honor of the man they call "Yeezus." Apparently a group of brothers on etsy replaced every word in the bible with "Kanye" and "Yeezus." AJ Lee was only in the WWE a few years and in that short time her contribution to female wrestling is greatly appreciated by fans. Especially since she came up during a time when female wrestling wasn't held in the highest regard with bookers giving the divas less then three minutes to tell a story in the ring. The Atlanta Falcons are facing fines and losing draft picks after getting caught pumping artificial noise into their stadium. The team will lose $350,00 and must forfeit their fifth-round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The team's President, Rich McKay, is also facing a suspension of up to three months due to a decision by the Competition Committee on April 1st. Read More »
Each member of System of a Down is of Armenian descent and in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of their people's genocide the band has decided to do something special for their people. On April 23rd, System of a Down will present a free concert to Armenian citizens. 'Ip Man' is an award-winning movie series based on the legendary martial artist Ip Man. Man was the Grandmaster of Wing Chun and more famously known for being one of Bruce Lee's biggest influences during the fighter/actor's younger years. Now it seems the studio that developed Ip Man 3, Pegausus Motion Pictures, is now at odds with the Bruce Lee Estate. Lee's estate is not pleased that the film starring boxing great Mike Tyson created a computer-generated Bruce Lee that used both Lee's likeness and voice in the film. 'Mortal Kombat' fans speculated the 'Mortal Kombat X' roster for months. The rumor mill only intensified when Netherealm Studios slowly revealed the Kombatants one-by-one instead of giving out a full roster reveal. It was a game of cat and mouse between Kombat creator Ed Boon's team and the fans. Well here we are a few weeks from Mortal Kombat's launch and we finally got a full chance to see the complete roster when a Netherealm Studios livestream revealed all 25-selection screen fighters.
