Is 'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' A Prequel For 'Avengers: Infinity War?'

By Jon Niles |

When Marvel announced its phase 3 movie schedule, we couldn't help but notice that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was set for a 2017 release, which just so happens to be a year before the 2018 release of Avengers: Infinity Wars - Part 1. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are well aware of crossover events taking place with characters and plotlines, so should we assume that the Guardians sequel is a prequel to the first Infinity War film? After all, the character Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) is involved in both plot lines, so it would make sense. According to writer/director James Gunn, though, his Guardians franchise is not going to be based around the Avengers - so don't hold your breath for this to be some kind of prequel! After some drama surrounding Roberto Orci and the new Star Trek 3 movie project, Lin has been named as Orci's replacement as the director. By Jaymz Clements |

Game of Thrones creator and author George RR Martin has offered to screen the James Franco and Seth Rogen comedy The Interview, and in the process blasted the "corporate cowardice" displayed by Sony for bowing to North Korean hackers wishes by not showing the movie (which centers around a CIA Kim Jong-Un assassination plot). With fortuitous timing - as HBO released a blink-and-you'll miss it teaser for Game of Thrones Season 5 featuring glimpses of Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister and Cersei Lannister - Martin slammed Sony, Regal and AMC and said that the situation was similar to that of Charlie Chaplin and his Hitler-mocking The Great Dictator.
