Dwight Howard Cleared Of All Child Abuse Allegations

By Star Connor | Nov 17, 2014 10:35 AM EST

"MStars News" has learned that Houston Rockets star Dwight Howard was under investigation for child abuse but has since then been cleared. According to TMZ, law enforcement sources revealed that Howard's baby mama, "Basketball Wives" star Royce Reed, appeared in Children's Services in the Orlando, Florida, area earlier this year and accused Howard of whooping their 6-year-old son Braylon with a belt, leaving bruises and abrasions to the child's body. The case worker told Reed to take her son to a medical facility to get him looked at and document his injuries. When Howard was questioned by authorities, the basketball star admitted he whipped his son with a belt, but was unaware he did anything wrong. Howard claims belts are a form of discipline that he received when he was younger. Howard's lawyer filed legal papers denying that the basketball player harmed his son with marks, bruises, welts or injuries that resulted in his son receiving medical treatment. Sources revealed that Reed's ex was cleared after Children's Services closed the case. The case workers concluded that Braylon's injuries weren't caused by a belt. But this drama wasn't over, because Howard decided to file legal papers last week requesting for full custody of his son, claiming his ex, "Basketball Wives" star Royce Reed, is an unfit mother. Houston Rocket Dwight Howard's Child Abuse Case To Ruin His NBA Dreams?

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 16, 2014 04:06 PM EST

Sometimes things seem to be going a little too well, and that has most certainly been the case for the Houston Rockets. But star man Dwight Howard is now involved in an NBA child abuse battle, one that's alarmingly similar to Adrian Peterson's case. The Rockets are seen as a top contender to win the NBA championship, but with all this controversy surrounding their team, can they really keep their good spirits and good form going? Rockets fans can relax, with the law declaring Howard as "not guilty" of breaking any rules, according to TMZ. His baby's mother, Royce Reed, made a complaint during the summer, saying he had whipped his son with a belt until bruises were left. He did confess to doing just that, but he claimed he was punished in that manner and did not realize there was anything wrong with the way he had punished his child. Read More »

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 15, 2014 11:40 AM EST

Floyd Mayweather only has a couple of fights left until he decides to retire, and it seems his passion has crossed over to his pal Kobe Bryant. Mayweather, as he often does, was in attendance for the big game, as the San Antonio Spurs visited the LA Lakers, but he failed to bring them any luck. However, Kobe has insisted he's jealous of the NBA title holders, and that he'll never give up on adding more accomplishments to his long list of achievements. While Floyd prepares for an Amir Khan and/or Manny Pacquiao bout, and the Lakers try and figure it out, one can wonder, are these two sporting legacies best left in the past? Read More »

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 01, 2014 06:54 PM EDT

Blake Griffin's LA Clippers beat the LA Lakers, confirming that they are now the NBA kings of Los Angeles, and it appears their superstars, and some music stars, just aren't happy about their poor start to the 2014-15 season. Lil Romeo has insisted that he and Chris Brown are both good enough basketball players, that they could restore some credibility to Kobe Bryant's team, but could the struggling franchise give them a shot to prove their worth? Bryant is frustrated, and at this point, who knows what he will want and not want for his team. Read More »

Carmelo Anthony & Taylor Swift- The New York Knicks' Star Hopes?

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 31, 2014 10:04 AM EDT

The NY Knicks have high expectations, and their star-studded audience proves that, too. New York is the place to be, and perhaps that's why Carmelo Anthony opted to stay with the Knicks, and perhaps that's why Taylor Swift and lingerie model Karlie Kloss were in attendance for their home-opener. Others including Justin Bieber and Ben Stiller were there, but could the attractive female fans be just the motivation the Knicks need? Then again, maybe not, as they went away, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers, showing. that maybe, just maybe, the fans and their expectations could hold them back. Read More »

The Los Angeles Lakers may no longer be the best team in the NBA, and they might have started the 2014-15 season in horrific fashion, but they still have A-list support. With Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Will Ferrell, Gerard Butler and Adam Levine in attendance, it's safe to say the arena wasn't short on superstars. Also, sadly, it appears Steve Nash will be joining them, with a season-ending injury, and now rookie Julius Randle has broken his leg on his debut, leaving veteran Kobe Bryant to carry their team. Can the Lakers give their A-list support something to shout about? Read More »

Julius Randle To Replace Kobe Bryant & Steve Nash?

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 24, 2014 04:44 PM EDT

The Los Angeles Lakers are perhaps the most decorated franchise in the entire NBA, but could both Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant be heading for retirement any day now, leaving room for their rookie Julius Randle to step up to the plate? Their top-ten pick is seen as a top prospect, but they were hoping he could develop under the veteran leadership, and coach Byron Scott. However, some devastating Lakers news might of changed that. Nash is out for the season and closing in on an official retirement date, while Kobe has hinted his isn't far away; so could the rookie Randle be handed the keys to the Lakers' basketball city? Kobe Bryant is fighting to save his NBA career, and now he has to prove to himself, the Los Angles Lakers and everyone else, that he's still the same Kobe he was a year or so ago. ESPN can be added to that list. They ranked Bryant as the 40th best player in the league for this season, and it seems the veteran shooter isn't too happy with the criticism. Not only does Kobe have to prove himself again this season, he's now at war with ESPN, and it seems that he's not ready to hold back, slamming them in his latest statement. Read More »

Kobe Bryant has dominated the NBA for what seems like forever, but after being riddled with injuries and his Los Angeles Lakers falling apart, many are questioning how they will perform in the upcoming season. The veteran sharp-shooter struggled in a recent preseason game, as did the Lakers, and Kobe immediately took himself and his family to Disneyland in an attempt to escape, and forget what looks set to be a miserable and possibly final season in the NBA. Will Kobe tarnish his long-living reputation with one bad season? Read More »

By Kenneth Brown | Sep 25, 2014 06:02 PM EDT

Nobody quite knew whether LeBron James would stay with the Miami Heat, or return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the NBA star has revealed all, at long last. It appears another NBA titles win over the San Antonio Spurs would of convinced him to stay in South Beach. LeBron had delivered a tell-all statement, and it's made some people wonder if he could bail on the Cavs again, especially if things with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving don't go as smoothly as they did with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
