New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has said that he had no knowledge of the 11 of 12 game balls being under-inflated until he was told about it on Monday, adding that he was "shocked" by the news. He then left it to quarterback Tom Brady to explain his preferences, and that he has "no explanation for what happened." The Chicago Bears will hire John Fox as their new head coach, according to reports. The NFL team have apparently settled on the former Denver Broncos head coach — who parted ways with (read: was fired by) the Broncos and their GM John Elway on Monday following the Broncos loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday — to replace former Bears coach Marc Trestman, who was let go after the season. Fox had a 46-18 record over his four years with the Broncos — one with Tim Tebow at quarterback and the other three with Peyton Manning — and went to the playoffs each year for a 2-3 record. Indianapolis Colts linebacker Josh McNary has claimed he's innocent of rape and criminal confinement charges, while his team have applied for and received permission from the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell to place McNary on the Commissioner's Exempt List, meaning he will not take part in their AFC Championship playoff game against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Sunday.
