Apple MacBook Pro and Microsoft Surface Book i7 are the two competing laptops in the high-end market. The recently announced Porsche Design Book One has made the competition even more fierce and has provided a new option for the consumers looking for a high-end laptop.

MacBook Pro 2016: It is an all metal laptop which is extremely thin and houses a 13 or 15-inch screen. The MacBook's display is gorgeous and has 2,560x1,600 pixel resolution. The display on the MacBook Pro has a better colour reproduction, 550-nits brightness level but the display is not touch-enabled.

The new MacBook Pro 2016 also features a touchbar that adapts to the content being displayed on the screen. The lack of ports in the new MacBook Pro has been heavily criticized by the reviewers and users have to depend on adapters to get things working.

Surface Book i7: It is the best laptop from Microsoft and one of the best competitors for Apple MacBook Pro. It is an extremely innovative take on the laptop form factor from Microsoft and has extremely durable magnesium alloy body featuring a unique Fulcrum hinge.

The Surface Book i7 is heavier that MacBook Pro as it houses better hardware and the keyboard can be detached to make it a tablet. The touchscreen display houses the processor, therefore, making it thicker than the MacBook Pro, Trusted Reviews reported.

Microsoft's Surface Book i7 has more ppi and features 3,000x2,000 pixel resolution. The Microsoft's laptop comes with a Surface Pen for precise stylus control. The base model has the latest Core-i7 processor with Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M GPU. Microsoft has equipped the laptop with essential ports including USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader.

Porsche Design Book One: It is a new entry in high-end laptops designed by Porsche. The laptop is a main competitor of Microsoft Surface Pro i7 and has an anodized aluminium body in a matte silvery finish. The Porsche Design Book One is the only laptop with 360-degree hinge and a detachable display, PCWorld reported.

The Porsche Design Book One has Intel's 7th-generation (Kaby Lake) Core i7-7500U with 16GB of LPDDR3 memory and 512 GB PCIe SSD. The Porsche Book One loses in the graphics department as it doesn't feature a dedicated graphics chip and relies on Intel's integrated HD Graphics 620.

The Book One has a 13.3-inch QHD+ (3200x1800) IPS display with a 10-point multitouch and uses Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The Porsche Design Book One comes with aluminium pens that attach magnetically to the side of the display. They have 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and Porsche Design claims that their battery should last around seven and a half months.

The Porsche Design Book One has a single USB 3.1 Type C port, two USB 3.0 Type A ports and a microSD card reader. The display houses a USB 3.1 Type C and a Thunderbolt port. The laptop is similarly priced to Microsoft Surface Book i7.
