Laini Taylor's Young Adult novel series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone could quite possibly be the next big movie franchise to take the place of Twilight and The Hunger Games. There are numerous other attempts at this goal (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Divergent, etc), but Universal is hoping that this story that mixes action, adventure and mythology into one story is the next craze to take over the film industry.
