A dog that risked her own life to save two young girls in the Philippines lost her snout and jaw after jumping in front of a speeding motorcycle. The heroic pup, Kabang, then became a viral international hit - since veterinarians in the Philippines were unable to treat the injury, an online campaign was started to help raise money to send the mixed-breed canine to Northern California and UC Davis. Kabang finally arrived in the States this week, but before undergoing corrective surgery, vets at UC Davis report that she must first be treated for heartworm and chemotherapy. Read More »
Jackie Guthrie, the longtime wife of popular folk singer Arlo Guthrie, died at the couple's Sebastian, FL winter home on Sunday (Oct. 14) at the age of 68. According to an obituary released by Arlo's record label Rising Son Records, Guthrie suffered from inoperable liver cancer which inevitably led to her passing. During Tuesday evening's second round of the 2012 Presidential Debates, Republican nominee Mitt Romney fired off a phrase that soon flooded social media outlets by storm - "binders full of women." What exactly was Romney referring to with such an odd expression? Well, he was responding to a question posed about gender pay inequality, and went on to explain that even after searching through "binders full of women" in order to find female employees to work on his campaign, none were qualified for the job - which is why Romney is surrounded by a staff full of men. Soon after Romney even mouthed the phrase, it went viral on popular social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, and beyond. The online hacker-group Anonymous has ousted a 30-year-old Vancouver man Kody Maxon as being Amanda Todd's cyber stalker and bully. The young Canadian teen committed suicide last week after being treacherously bullied by her peers, supposedly after Maxon posted pictures of her exposed breasts online. After space skydiver Felix Baumgartner took his infamous 128,100ft/833.9mph leap above the Earth on Sunday, the 43-year-old claims that he is now ready to finally retire and settle down with his current girlfriend, former beauty queen and model Nicole Oetl.
