After word broke that Hillary Clinton is running for President in the 2016 spot, we couldn’t help but venture back to this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live cold open – with host Taraji P. Henson and musical guest Mumford & Sons – in which key player Kate McKinnon portrayed Clinton prepping to make her big announcement. The sketch appeared to beat the former First Lady to the punch, and even brought back a familiar face: Darrell Hammond’s infamous Bill Clinton impression. Mariel Hemingway Talks Turning Down Woody Allen in New Memoir

Some might call Woody Allen. Some might call him a pervert and molester. Actress Mariel Hemingway calls him the guy she once turned down. But it seems he was nothing but pleasant to the at-the-time young actress. Hemingway has been making the rounds to promote her new memoir Out Came the Sun, and in the book, she mentions Allen’s attempts to bring to the Paris after the completion of his 1979 classic Manhattan. Who said CONAN host Conan O'Brien couldn't do chin-ups? All he needs is a little motivation, a challenge... and comedian Kevin Hart. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of her Let's Move! campaign – which aims at helping children live healthy lifestyles and fight childhood obesity – First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama decided to create the #GimmeFive challenge. Much like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, this contest has a person challenge another to do five somethings (chin-ups, jumping jacks – something that makes them move.) 'CONAN' Comedian Jimmy Pardo Hosting Science Channel's New 'Race to Escape' Series

Are you a fan of science? How about comedian Jimmy Pardo? How about Pardo's podcast Never Not Funny? How about CONAN? Well, if you answered yes to them all, we've got great news for you: the famed comedian is gearing up to host a new game show for the Science Channel titled Race to Escape. Much like the now-famed Escape the Room and others like it, which locks a group of people in a room and gives them an hour to get out using several clues inside the room, Pardo's new Science series will pin two teams of strangers against one another. Jon Stewart Defends Trevor Noah After His Twitter Backlash

While the world was busy bashing Jon Stewart's soon-to-be Daily Show replacement Trevor Noah, the current host of the Comedy Central vehicle was busy trying to figure out the right words for viewers and non-viewers alike. And on last night's episode, he seemed to figure it out. Showtime Releases 'Knock Knock, It's Tig Notaro' Documentary Trailer [WATCH]

Comedian Tig Notaro is hitting the road, folks. Well… she already did alongside stand up Jon Dore, but the special is now airing on Showtime. Well… it will air on Showtime this coming April 17. Set as a documentary called Knock Knock, It’s Tig Notaro, the Showtime special follows the two comedians as they perform in fans’ homes and backyards. Notaro, of course, is the host of the popular podcast Professor Blastoff, and made headlines some time ago when she was diagnosed with cancer and released her oh, so personal special Tig Notaro LIVE – which detailed exactly what she was going through during her trying time. Ricky Gervais 'Special Correspondents' Film Picked Up by Netflix

Following word that comedian Ricky Gervais and actor Eric Bana were teaming up for a comedy film title Special Correspondents, it's now being reported that the film will be picked up by the fine folks over at Netflix. The online streaming service is of course no stranger to Gervais, as they are the home for his latest series Derek, which aired its finale special back in Dec. 2014. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Special Correspondents will premiere sometime next year on Netflix. The film follows Gervais as a radio journalist who goes so far as to fake the news stories he reports. Read More »

Netflix Hires a New Comedy Exec to Produce More Comedy

Netflix is stepping up their game in the comedy department, readers. After releasing the uber successful Tina Fey, Robert Carlock-led Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – starring the one and only Ellie Kemper – word has it that the streaming service has hired Unviersal's VP of Comedy Andrew Weil to oversee their comedy just under Jane Wiseman. Deadline is reporting on the new Netflix hire, stating that Weil was a mere 27-years-old when he was brought aboard Uni TV. He came to the team back in 2011 and help fine-tune Fox's hit Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Before that, he was a main go-to over at BermanBraun. Read More »
