It's no surprise that the two Saturday Night Live Alums would enjoy working on a film together! Amy Poehler and Tina Fey both recently spoke about their filming experience on Sisters and it sounds like "fantasy camp" to Poehler! Read More »
Bossypants is at it again! Actor/writer/producer Tina Fey is collaborating again with Robert Carlock, who partnered with Fey on Netflix's Original Series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, on a new comedy show for NBC. This is good news for the team seeing as the streaming series had originally been rejected by NBC and then subsequently picked up by Netflix. Tracey Wigfield of 30 Rock and The Mindy Project will executive produce the show, according to the Inquisitr, which reports that " insiders are confident that the show will get a series order. The new Tina Fey series is said to be about a young woman making her way up the career ladder at a cable network when her overbearing mother is hired as an intern." Read More »
Funny lady Vanessa Bayer might appear to have it all now that she's a leading player on Saturday Night Live, but it looks like the comedian didn't always have it easy. Back when she was 15 years old, Bayer reportedly battled leukemia. Thankfully, she was able to beat the cancer, but it appears that the shock of being a ill child doesn't go away so easily. It's possible that Chris Farley was one of the funniest people to have ever graced the Saturday Night Live stage. Naturally, when he passed away back in 1997, the world was rocked––especially the world of comedy. Now, however, it seems that there's a new documentary about the comedy legend titled I Am Chris Farley, and it will debut on Spike this coming Aug. 10. Read More »

If you checked into Saturday Night Live this past weekend with host Michael Keaton then you undoubtedly saw a randomly bizarre parody video for the Church of Neurotology. But if you caught HBO's Going Clear documentary, which details the happenings within L. Ron Hubbard's famed Church of Scientology, then you know it wasn't so random. In the parody video, the iconic sketch show mocked Scientology's oh, so cheesy jingle and accompanying video from decades ago, which was featured in the HBO doc. Read More »
It's being reported that Empire's very own Taraji P. Henson – who plays Cookie Lyon on the famed Terrence Howard-led FOX series – will host Saturday Night Live in April. Before her debut performance, however, Birdman star Michael Keaton will step to the iconic NBC stage for the third time on April 4. The announcements come after Empire rounded out its very first season, which needless to say was an absolute hit, and after Birdman received numerous Academy Awards, including the win for Best Picture. Though, of course, it's hard to forget that whole putting-away-the-acceptance-speech-when-you-didn't-win thing that Keaton did, or did not, do. Read More »

Looks like not everyone was thrilled with Dakota Johnson's appearance on last night's Saturday Night Live. Not necessarily because of her actual performance, of course. We're actually speaking of a certain sketch that has now caused a Twitter outrage online. In a father-daughter commercial parody, SNL player Taran Killam played a father dropping off his daughter, who was played by host and 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson, at the airport. The sketch mocks the very same Toyota car commercial in which a father brings his newly enlisted daughter to the airport. In this bit, however, the daughter does not head inside, and she's not in the army. Instead, she catches a ride from someone else––ISIS. Which, as you might guess, is where the outrage came. The sketch left many viewers feeling that the legendary NBC sketch show crossed the line. Read More »
Taylor Swift's one lucky gal - following SNL's 40th Anniversary special on Sunday evening (February 15), the 1989 songstress hopped onstage with Beatles legend Paul McCartney for a phenomenal "All Star" impromptu performance of "Shake It Off." Pretty cool! But apparently, fellow pop starlet Miley Cyrus was not amused... Because she wanted the after-party limelight! Read More »
Perhaps one of the best sketches of this past Sunday's Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary was Celebrity Jeopardy. Why? Well, because it gathered some of the most iconic celebs (both the performers and the impersonations) together again for one of our favorite SNL sketches of all time. And while Darryl Hammond delighted playing Sean Connery, as he usually does, and Norm MacDonald thrilled us all with his famed Burt Reynolds/Turd Ferguson impression ... it seems that there was supposed to be a little more star power in there. And yes, Kenan Thompson did a wonderful job as famed comedian/alleged rapist Bill Cosby, but it seems he wasn't the first choice to play the role of the good doctor. So, who was supposed to? One time SNL savior Eddie Murphy, who appeared in the NBC studio for the first time in about 30 years – which turned out to be a bit of a letdown. With Celebrity Jeopardy, however, apparently Murphy ultimately decided he did not want to play the Cosby Show star ... according to Norm MacDonald's Twitter account. Read More »
All we can say is it’s about time comedian Colin Quinn got his own series … just saying. The famed comic and former Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchor just dropped the premiere for his new web series Cop Show, which is now on L/Studio. The video came just after Quinn’s appearance on SNL’s legendary 40th anniversary show. And if that weren’t enough to grab your interest … how about if we told you Quinn’s friend and fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld appeared on the episode? Well, he does… Read More »
Anyone who watched this past Sunday’s Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special is well aware that the show was a star-studded event filled with some of the biggest names in comedy, TV, film and music. And as great as the show was, the after party proved to be even better. How do we know? Well, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon told a lengthy (yet totally entertaining) tale of the evening’s happenings. One that included Eddie Murphy’s iconic SNL return, his time inadvertently emceeing the after party and what it was like jamming with Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift on “Shake It Off.” Read More »
