It's been a long time coming, but today Oscar Pistorius was finally sentenced. The former track star killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013, but he pleaded that he believed she was an intruder. He received a three-year suspended sentence for a firearms charge, and the Reeva case was finally settled, with Oscar cleared of murder, but facing punishment for his culpable homicide charges. Oscar Pistorius is edging closer to learning his fate for the shooting and killing of Reeva Steenkamp. Yesterday we learned that he could not be charged with murder, and today he was charged with culpable homicide, however, his fate will not be learned until the court reopens on October 13th (date subject to change). The athletics star has been granted bail, where he will continue to live with his uncle outside of the city center until he learns his fate. Today, Oscar Pistorius was cleared of murdering Reeva Steenkamp, but on Friday the adjourned case will reopen, and he could be sentenced to a long-term jail spell if he's charged of culpable homicide. The famous athletics star could receive many different sentences, but at long last the difficult case will come to a close.
