Frat-boy party star-turned-Cleveland Browns NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel threw a party on Friday: as a result, he was fined, and got teammate Josh Gordon suspended for the final week of the NFL season, perhaps costing him millions of dollars in free agency in the process. The Browns - who lost to AFC North rivals the Baltimore Ravens 20-10 - are talking tough in response to the pair and Justin Gilbert's (who was also suspended for missing a meeting) attitudes towards being professional NFL players as a result, while owner Jimmy Haslam has said that coach Mike Pettine and GM Ray Farmer will "absolutely be back" for the 2015 NFL season. Merry Christmas to the 96,700 morons who follow former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling on Twitter — the arrestingly hypocritical blowhard celebrated the holiday by spewing a slew of irrational thoughts from his bigger-than-he-thinks-people-notice head. In the past 72 hours, Schilling has attacked President Barack Obama, Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and, in a hilarious twist of irony, the American media. Since that last little entity is what currently employs Schilling, who's eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame for the first time this year, let's start there. Schilling has worked as a baseball analyst for ESPN, the single most rich and powerful sports media company in the world, since 2010, according to the company's website. Who was it again who hyped Schilling's "bloody sock" performance in the 2004 American League Championship Series so hard that it so rapidly cemented into baseball immortality that it basically overshadowed an injury-plagued career mired by regular-season mediocrity? Michael Sam said he comes from a family of homophobes and that his brothers called him a "faggot" after he came out as the first openly gay football player earlier this year, Sam told Oprah Winfrey, according to TMZ. Sam spoke with Oprah for a documentary that aired Saturday, Dec. 27, in which the former St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys practice player detailed how difficult it was for him to be accepted even in his own home. "They called me a lot of things," Sam said, according to TMZ. "They called me a f-g. They called me 'gay.' They called me anything you could think of — just to hurt me." During the interview, Sam changed his stance on whether he thinks his sexuality cost him a spot in the NFL. Sam was released by the Rams and the Cowboys, never appearing in a game. Harbaugh played quarterback at Michigan, where he led the Wolverines to the No.2 national ranking during his junior season. Cole reported that university officials are already in San Francisco to meet with Harbaugh after the season concludes. Harbaugh has let the Michigan offer sit for weeks now while his future in San Francisco got murkier and murkier. But the 49ers will come to regret the decision according to SB Nation, which says Harbaugh did everything in San Fran except win a Super Bowl. The Cleveland Browns have suspended Josh Gordon for the final game of their NFL season. The star wide receiver apparently missed the team's practice walkthrough and has been suspended one game for violating team rules. He will miss the team's Week 17 tilt against the Baltimore Ravens. Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel also reportedly missed the walkthrough, but as he's injured, has been excused. With Gordon only playing five games this year, it also means that the talented receiver will be a restricted free agent after the year, rather than unrestricted, and raises the prospect that Cleveland could trade the star.
