On New Girl, Nick and Jess are heading into some uncharted territory and they both have some pretty unique ways of dealing with it. Zooey Dechanel and Jake Johnson who play ex-couple Nick and Jess on the Fox comedy series play co-habituating exes on the series, which is unique in itself, but their friendly relationship is about to hit a speed bump as it could possible cause their future relationships to fizzle out before they even start. The comedy series starring Zooey Deschanel has replaced their much-loved high energy opening credit sequence with one that has a much different feel. "New Girl" returned with a new episode last night, and it was awesome. "Background Check" revolves around a police check and Jessica Day's misperception of meth. The episode begins with Schmidt discovering that Cece went on a date with a guy named Paul. He's obviously weird about it, but his craziness is cut short when Winston tells the loft that a sergeant from the police academy is coming over for an at-home background check. After bonding over how great a trip to the shopping outlets would be on a weekend afternoon, the boys end up agreeing to the background check to help Winston. Oddly, Jess starts to panic and tells Nick, Schmidt and Coach that she has a bag of meth in her closet! Why does she have the giant bag of meth? She got it at a yard sale ... obviously. Read More »
