On Tuesday evening, November 6, 2012, Barack Obama was reelected President of the United States of America for the 2012-2016 presidential term (defeating political rival Mitt Romney, 303 electoral votes to 206). Following the monumental event, Obama took to his official Twitter account to thank fans and supporters. Along with a number of grateful tweets, an image was then posted of President Obama in a sweet, intimate embrace with his First Lady, Michelle Obama. The Twitpic was simply deemed, "Four more years." The image has been retweeted so many times since Tuesday evening, that it even set a Twitter world record. As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 7), the Twitpic has been retweeted over a whopping 664,000 times, and "favorited" by over 226,000 Twitter followers. Read More »
Lamar Odom (hubby of popular reality star Khloe Kardashian) was once named "NBA Sixth Man of the Year" in 2011 and proved a huge star in two NBA championship victories - but such conquests weren't achieved with Odom's current team, the Los Angeles Clippers. The 32-year-old basketball star reached true NBA fame with his old team, the LA Lakers. Although Odom started off his NBA career with the Clippers in 1999 and seems pretty happy about his 2012 return, it looks like his heart may still somewhat belong with the Lakers (or maybe he's just gotten so used to saying the word "Lakers" over "Clippers" in so many sports/product promos). Mollie Parsons, a nurse from Ohio, was sentenced to serve ten years behind bars this week after being charged in a malnutrition case, where she was found to have starved a handicapped teenager to death while under her provisional care. 14-year-old Makayla Norman, who had cerebral palsy, only weighed a meager 28-pounds at the time of her unfortunate death in 2011. Makayla's mother, Angela Norman, was also found guilty of starving her own daughter to death, and is already currently serving a nine year sentence. Read More »

Bostonians were treated to a delightful musical surprise when the popular rock band Aerosmith hit the streets outside of their old apartment building in Allston, MA to perform a free concert in promotion of their new album "Music from Another Dimension!" (which drops on Election Day - Tuesday, Nov. 6) on Monday afternoon. The area surrounding 1325 Commonwealth Ave. was heavily populated by diehard fans and college-aged students alike as Aerosmith tore into a number of classics including "Walk this Way" and "Sweet Emotion." The parents of a 15-year-old girl from Pakistan recently admitted to killing their own daughter for supposedly dishonoring the family by "eyeing a boy." Reports confirm that Mohammad Zafar and his wife Zaheen, who recently spoke to BBC news from a Pakistani jail, first brutally beat their daughter Anusha before murdered her by pouring acid all over her body. The horrific death is ritualistically referred to as an "honor killing" - by inappropriately looking at a male, Anusha had brought public shame upon her family - the Zafars insist that their teenage daughter had to be rightfully punished. Former "7th Heaven" star Beverley Mitchell has announced that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Michael Cameron - the 31-year-old actress is expecting to give birth sometime in early April. Mitchell, who played Lucy Camden on the hit drama television series "7th Heaven," claims that co-star and close gal pal Jessica Biel was one of the first to hear about the exciting baby news. Apparently Mitchell was shocked to find out that she was indeed expecting - it took seven pregnancy tests (and two more at the doctor's office) for "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" star to fully come to terms with the impending growth of a baby bump. Back in September, an intruder wielding a pair of scissors and claiming to be pop star Miley Cyrus' husband was arrested and locked behind bars for trespassing and burglary. Although Cyrus wasn't home at the time and the man (40-year-old Jason Rivera) still currently resides in jail, the 19-year-old songstress claims that she is utterly terrified and wants even more security and protection from the raving lunatic. The cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" is set to host a live fundraising event for victims of Hurricane Sandy, a gigantic storm which devastated most parts of the East Coast (especially the shorelines) on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. The money raised during the event will also go towards rebuilding the town of Seaside Heights and its infamous boardwalk, a location which achieved worldwide fame thanks to MTV's hit summertime reality show. The sign language interpreters for NYC Mayor Michael Bloomburg and NJ Governor Chris Christie have been hard at work in the national limelight following the devastations of Hurricane Sandy - and SNL decided to have some fun with them in a mock skit televised this past weekend. Although pretty hilarious, popular deaf actress Marlee Matlin was not so amused. In a series of angry tweets, 47-year-old Matlin condemns the opening skit as "childish" and "insulting." According to Matlin, it is okay for the media to poke fun just at her, but to ridicule actual sign language is just plain wrong. Read More »
A two-year-old boy visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo with family on Sunday (Nov. 4) was killed after being mauled to death by a pack of wild dogs at one of the zoo's popular animal exhibits. The mother of the young child (whose name has yet to be released) unsafely placed the boy on top of the exhibit railing to get a better look at the pack of wild African painted dogs. The beasts then leapt on the 2-year-old and quickly mauled him to death as shocked zoo visitors looked on in utter horror. Read More »
Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, Jr. married his longtime girlfriend and popular Belgian model Charisse Verhaert on Saturday, Nov. 3. The duo wed in a small, private ceremony amongst close friends and family in Aldea del Fresno, Spain. Iglesias Jr.'s legendary father Julio Iglesias attended the matrimonial event, as well as his mother (socialite and former journalist) Isabel Preysler. 39-year-old Iglesias, Jr. and 30-year-old Verhaert, who have been together for eight years, publically announced their engagement back in May 2011.
