A new genus of fern recently discovered by Duke researchers has officially been named in honor of pop star Lady Gaga. According to researchers, the new type of fern - which already includes 19 species within its class and can be found throughout parts of Arizona, Texas, Mexico, Central America, and South America - has somewhat "fluid definitions of gender" during a specific period of its growth. Austin Reed Sigg, a 17-year-old from Denver, Colorado, was arrested on Tuesday evening in connection with the shocking abduction and murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway. Sigg was also arrested for attacking a jogger back in May. According to police, a call from Sigg's own mother led authorities to the teenager, who then willingly turned himself in. Read More »
Plus-sized college student Stella Boonshoft recently posted an unedited underwear/bikini picture of herself on her Tumblr account, which was then picked up by photographer Brandon Stanton and published on his site Humans of New York. The photo of Boonshoft (a size 12) soon went viral, prompting an online discussion (both positive and negative) about the 18-year-old's weight. Many individuals now laud Boonshoft (who fully embraces her plus-sized figure) as a body-image hero. Brittany Taltos, the reality star made famous by her romantic fling with "Jersey Shore" cast member Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino while in Italy, was hit by a pickup truck while sunbathing outside on the yard of her Gainesville, FL apartment complex on Sunday. Reports have it that Donald Trump's highly-anticipated Obama announcement will debut at noon on Wednesday, and it involves ousting the fact that Barack and Michelle Obama seriously considered filing for divorce at one point - and Trump supposedly even has the divorce papers to prove it. Family and friends in Sao Paulo, Brazil found themselves in shocked relief when Gilberto Araujo, a man thought to be murdered, walked (alive) into his own funeral on Monday. Police delivered what was thought to be Araujo's deceased body to his brother, Jose Marcos Araujo, on Sunday. But this bizarre occurrence does not warrant hysteria over an upcoming zombie apocalypse - it was merely a disturbing case of mistaken identity. Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan live-tweeted during the 2012 Presidential Debate Monday evening, and to the surprise of some fans, the troubled 26-year-old (who recently backed Republican nominee Mitt Romney) actually appeared to praise current President Barack Obama. Apparently Lohan was a nervous wreck throughout Monday night's final bout of the Debates, and expressed her relief that the event was finally over. IGN reports that "Jaws 3-D" may finally debut in Blu Ray - this modernized version of the sequel to Steven Spielberg's classic 1975 horror blockbuster "Jaws" would feature high-definition, three-dimensional visuals. Fans were disappointed when "Jaws 3-D" wasn't released on Blu Ray alongside the original "Jaws" on August 24.
