98 Degrees '2.0' Album Released: New Songs from Reunited '90's Boy Band Includes 'Microphone,' 'Girl's Night Out,' & 'Lonely;' Hot Comeback for 'I Do' Singers?

By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | May 08, 2013 10:42 AM EDT

The long wait is over!! The boys from '98 Degrees' (Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, & Justin Jeffre) who melted our hearts back in the '90's with their boy band hits like "I Do" and "My Everything," have officially reentered the music scene yesterday (May 7th) with the release of their new album '2.0' 2.0 marks the fifth overall studio album for '98 Degrees' and their first LP release in over a decade. The latest from the reunited and all-grown-up soulful quartet features 11 brand new songs, plus 2 newly recorded, bonus acoustic versions of their Gold and Platinum singles "Because of You" and "Invisible Man." Also included are the two previously debuted singles: "Microphone" and "Girl's Night Out." Rolling Stone describes the new album as a "sonically mixed bag": tracks such as the "Bruno Mars-penned "Take the Long Way Home" and "Let Go My Heart" are of the expected aching-ballad variety, while the EDM-driven lead single "Microphone" - which Lachey describes as the group's "nod at the current music landscape" - and the Michael Jackson-channeling "Can't Get Enough" feel comparatively contemporary. Will the 2.0 version of '98 Degrees' set the boys up for a hot comeback or has the heat cooled off over the years? Read More »

Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift ''Feud': 'Heart Attack' Singer did NOT Diss Harry Styles' Ex-Girlfriend or her Love Life, Denies Dating Niall Horan

By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | May 04, 2013 11:12 AM EDT

There's no need to have a "heart attack"... Demi Lovato has revealed that she and Taylor Swift are NOT feuding! Contrary to recent rumors from writers and bloggers (like Perez Hilton) trying to stir up "Trouble" for the young singers, the X-Factor judge denies that she was "throwing shade" or dissing Swift's love life with her recent comment in a Company interview: "I don't care about Taylor Swift's love life. I don't care about Harry Styles' love life. I care about mine. I find it weird that people are so obsessed with other people's love lives!" This was Lovato's response when the magazine asked for her opinion on "Taylor Swift's high profile relationship" with One Direction-er Harry Styles. The query came after the "Skyscraper" singer was also asked if she and Styles' band mate Niall Horan were dating. When the interview was printed in the June edition of Company magazine, the comment about the 23-year-old country singer stirred up some controversy. Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, called Demi out on Twitter and tagged the star in a tweet linked to his article: "@ddlovato Demi Lovato Throws Some More Shade Over Taylor Swift! OUCH!" Read More »

The EDC Las Vegas 2013 full LINEUP has finally been announced! Insomniac Event's 17th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival, which will take place at Motor Speedway June 21st-23rd in "Sin City", unveiled its impressive lineup on Wednesday after announcing earlier in the week that tickets for the 2013 summer festival have already sold out. The set list contains more than 200 acts (music, art and theatrical), notes Las Vegas Weekly, and eight of DJ Mag's top 10-ranked names are among them: Armin van Buuren (No. 1), Tiësto (2), Avicii (3), Hardwell (6), Dash Berlin (7), Above & Beyond (8), Afrojack (9) and Skrillex (10, who will perform as Dog Blood with Boys Noize). ‘Splash’ ABC Week 7 Results: Brandi Chastain Eliminated in Dive-Off, Chuy Returns, Bell, Bushfield, Eggert Head to Finals: Last 3 Competitors Remain in Diving Competition

By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | May 01, 2013 12:06 PM EDT

The final four celebrity contestants on ABC's "Splash" (Nicole Eggert, Drake Bell, Brandi Chastain, & Rory Bushfield) dove into Week 7 of the competition on the April 30th episode of the reality TV show. With only one week remaining in the premiere season of ABC's new celebrity diving competition, the dramatics climbed to an all-time high as injured contestant Chuy (from Chelsea Lately) was brought back to the Splash pool to be Louganis' assistant and provide some comic relief to ease the tension building amongst the final 4. In this week's challenge, each remaining celebrity selected their favorite board and was then assigned a dive by the "Dive Master" (coach Greg Louganis). In the battle for a spot in next week's finale, the highest scorer (combined with the audience vote) secured an automatic spot in the finale (Bushfield) while the other three participated in three-way dive off, resulting in Brandi Chastain's elimination. Here's how last night's episode played out: Read More »

'21 Jump Street 2' Release Date Revealed, Channing Tatum & Jonah Hill Head to College in June 2014 Sequel Movie

By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | May 01, 2013 10:47 AM EDT

'21 Jump Street' fans have the right to get excited (and to be an attorney if you really want to..) because Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are returning to the big screen together in 2014, reprising their roles as everyone's favorite undercover cops. Sony Studios has finally revealed the release date for the sequel movie, '21 Jump Street 2,' and Tatum & Hill will be heading off to college for their next Jump Street assignment, starting June 6, 2014, reports Deadline. When '21 Jump Street' hit theatres in 2012, it was unexpected that the R-rated comedy, based on a 1980's television series about cops, would become one of the funniest movies of the year. Viewers were pleasantly surprised by the movie's hilarity and couldn't get enough of the "bromance" shared between Channing & Jonah's beloved characters, Jenko & Schmidt. The 2014 sequel is being co-written by Hill and Michael Bacall and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller once again, and it will continue to explore the special relationship between the two under-achieving cops even further (only this time in a college setting). By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | Apr 30, 2013 02:14 PM EDT

Jenna Marbles (Jenna Mourey), the beloved YouTube star with over 8 million subscribers, has finally given her followers some insight into the real reason why she and her boyfriend of 4 years, Max "NoSleeves," really broke up back in December. In a Twitter vent session that began on Sunday, the New York native hinted that Max's infidelity was the true cause of the couple's 2012 break up with the exposing tweet: "Once a cheater always a cheater. We are never ever ever getting back together. Like ever. #weeeee" Dedicated "Marbleheads" had come to know and love Jenna's ex, Max Weisz, through his frequent cameos in her countless comedic videos that she began making back in 2010 (with her first viral YouTube video,"How to Trick People into Thinking You're Really Good Looking," gaining over 50 million hits). Jenna's fan base, mostly consisting of preteen & teenaged girls, were deeply upset by the shocking news that she and Max were splitting, posting reactions like "MY LIFE IS OVER," "I feel like my parents are getting divorced," and "everything I know about love is a lie." Akon & David Guetta 'Change Comes' [LISTEN] New Song from 'Work Hard' Duo, Latest Single from 'Lonely' Singer's 'Stadium' Album (Release in September)

By lauren-cortez-mstars-news | Apr 30, 2013 08:57 AM EDT

Akon & David Guetta have apparently been "working hard" together, as another new song from the collaborative duo makes its debut: "Change Comes" (LISTEN to radio rip version below). This track is the latest single from the "Lonely" singer's upcoming album, entitled "Stadium," which Akon revealed earlier this month on BET's 106 & Park will officially be released on September 11th of this year. He describes his most recent album "Stadium" as "a piece of everything... this big, huge event looking to gather people from all over the world." The record's release date has repeatedly been pushed back since 2010, so let's hope the September release date is final! "Stadium" will be Akon's fourth studio album and his first complete LP since 2008's "Freedom," which featured hits like "Right Now (Na Na Na)," "Beautiful," and "I'm So Paid." Akon hasn't been "Locked Up" over the years, however, as he's worked on other collaborations with DJ Superstar David Guetta like "Sexy Chick," "Work Hard" (which also features Ne-Yo), & "Crank it Up."
